Sarah Wiener Stiftung
In the end of 2007 Sarah Wiener, Alfred Biolek and friends established the Sarah Wiener Foundation (SWS). This foundation, like Sarah Wiener herself, stands for an uncomplicated and naturally relationship regarding to food and nutrition which shall be taught to children, pupils and teenagers all over Germany and beyond.
The SWS` aim is to avoid eating disorders. We also want to prevent corpulence and any form of malnutrition with its high risks for individual health, high costs and mental distress. Learning team-working and getting more self-confidence is our aim, too.
Until the end of 2010 we have coached 700 teachers and educators (multiplier) in 350 schools and kindergardens in 47 German regions and cities who are executing our cooking- and nutrition courses, which are scientifically proofed, with their pupils.
According to this, the children visit nearby organic farms in order to present the food-chain and the circumstances of food production.
In cooperation with the German Bundesstiftung Umwelt (Federal foundation for environment) we started, since 2011, to implement our content directly within the educational trainings of educators in more than 60 training schools in Germany.
Nevertheless, we are always looking for dedicated partners and supporters.
